Activistas del CID evitan desalojo de madre con dos hijos

El pasado día 8 de febrero del presente año, cuando eran aproximadamente las 9 de la mañana, se dio un caso en el reparto Horacio Rodríguez de Manzanillo con una joven llamada Yaymari Ramírez Tamayo, de 29 año de edad, con sus dos niños, el más chiquito de 2 años, operado, con enfermedades del riñón y circulatorio, el otro de 7 años también, enfermo de los nervios.

La joven vivía en la provincia de Camagüey, se le presentó un problema matrimonial y la votaron a la calle con sus dos niños y fue dada de baja de la tarjeta. Recurre a Manzanillo para la casa de la madre y al llegar a la misma se topa que esta no le puede prestar ayuda porque ella no tiene condiciones de vida para meterla en su ranchito.

Yaymari se entera que al lado del Sector de la PNR del reparto se encuentra un local que esta vacío y decide meterse con sus dos niños. Al día siguiente cuando el Jefe de Sector de da cuenta que habían unas personas viviendo va les dice que tienen que salir o de lo contrario, si era necesario, les tumbaría eso a golpe limpio con una mandarria y a ella junto con los niños los sacaría a patadas como si fueran una pelota de futbol.

Rápidamente personas que se encontraban acerca y que estaban presenciando el panorama fueron a avisarnos para que tomáramos fotos y no permitiéramos ningún tipo de abusos con esa familia.

El Jefe de Sector al ver que nosotros nos encontrábamos tomando fotos, llamó por teléfono a la Inseguridad del Estado y estos se aparecieron junto a tres carros de patrullas y un jeep y nos detuvieron. Nos soltaron a las 6 horas, esto bajo amenazas, con una multa cada uno de $ 30.00 y una carta de advertencia de que si nos cogían rondando allí no iban a meter cuatro años de peligrosidad y a la vez desacato a la autoridad.

Queremos aclara que en los líderes del CID nunca existió quebrantamiento o miedo, al contrario, siempre nos mantuvimos firme porque nosotros sabíamos que ellos por mucho que quisieran de detenernos y amenazarnos nunca pudieron ocuparnos las foros que les tomamos. Además, les dijimos que nos matarán a tiro o nos metieran presos pero abusos tan grandes como ese no lo íbamos a permitir nunca en nuestro país, mientras nuestro partido existiera.

La delegación del CID en Manzanillo, junto a un grupo de personas del mismo barrio que se sumaron, le brindamos ayuda a la joven Yaymari Ramírez y sus dos niños pasándole alimento, agua y ropa. Nosotros no vamos a permitir ningún descaro ni atropello contra esta familia, que solo están luchando por un lugar donde vivir. Nos mantendremos aquí día y noche luchando hasta que se le dé solución a este caso. Yaymari dijo: “Doy las gracias a los dirigentes y activistas del CID y al pueblo que me están brindando apoyo’.

El corrupto Jefe de Consejo en Manzanillo dijo que iba a buscar una solución.

CID activists prevent eviction of mother and two children

On February 8 of this year, at approximately 9 in the morning, a situation developed in the Horacio Rodríguez neighborhood of Manzanillo, Cuba, involving a 29 year-old young woman named Yaymari Ramírez Tamayo and her two children, the youngest of whom, a 2 year-old, who has been operated, with kidney and circulatory diseases, and the other one, a 7 year-old, also suffering from a nervous illness.

The young woman used to live in the Camagüey province, had a marital problem and was kicked out of the house, with her two children, and was taken off the ration card. She goes to Manzanillo, to her mother’s house, and upon arrival she finds the latter cannot help her because she is in no condition to have her in her hut.

Yaymari found out that in the neighborhood’s PNR Sector there is an empty locale and decides to enter with her two children. The following day, when the Sector Chief realizes there were some people living there, he goes there and tells them they must leave or, if it were necessary, he would demolish the locale with a sledgehammer and would kick her out along with the children as if they were a soccer ball. People who were nearby and were witnessing what was happening quickly went to warn us so we would take pictures and not allow any kind of abuse against this family.

When the Sector Chief saw that we were taking pictures he phoned officials of the State Insecurity apparatus and they appeared with three patrol cars and a Jeep and arrested us. They released us six hours later, under threats, with a $30.00 fine each and a letter warning us that if they found us around there they were going to jail us for four years for dangerous behavior and contempt for authority.

We want to clearly state that at no time did the CID leaders show weakness or fear, on the contrary we remained firm because we knew that as much as they wanted to arrest and threaten us they could never take away the pictures we took of them. Also, we told them that they could shoot us or jail us but we would never allow abuse such as this to happen in our country, as long as our party exists.

We, the CID delegation in Manzanillo, along with a group of people from the same neighborhood, provided aid to the young Yaymari Ramírez and her two children, delivering food, water and clothing. We will not allow any disrespect or injustice against this family who are only struggling for a place to live. We will remain here, day and night, fighting until a solution is found to this case. Yaymari said: “I thank the CID activists and the neighbors who are supporting me.”

The corrupt Manzanillo Council Chief said he was going to look for a solution.
